WHAT ARE SPIRITS?

That is a question that troubled my mind for quite some time. You read in books that we are energy, that our soul is just loving energy. In other books they talk about vibrations, higher or lower vibrations. Personally I found, at first, some difficulty in understanding this concept but believe me it is a very simple one.

Consider water; consider the different forms that it can take. We can experience water as a liquid. We all know water, but do we see water only as a liquid? Of course not. We see water in the form of ice or we can see also water in the form of steam. What has happened here?  Water is still water; it is a liquid in its natural state.

If now we remove some of the energy that it has, if we cool it down, or if you want to be more scientific if you slow down the vibration of its molecules, of its atoms, water appears then to be solid, it appears as ice. It is only an appearance, and if you leave it in a normal environment it will turn again into a liquid.

If now you add energy to the water, if somehow you force its vibration to rise you can turn the liquid into a gas, you can turn water into steam. You can do that by heating the water, by adding energy to it. Again if you leave that steam in a normal environment it will soon return to liquid.

So that is exactly what we are, we are like the water. Normally we have some energy and our normal state is a spirit state. When we are born into this physical world what we have actually done is to slow down our vibration, to loose some of our energy, and we appear solid, as human beings. We keep that state until such time we have experienced the situations or until we have learned the lessons that we needed and then we leave ourselves free to stabilise again into our normal state.

If we receive energy we can raise our vibration and reach, as spirits or as souls, higher levels. Higher levels of knowledge, of love and be able to do things bigger and more important.

By going through different life times, what we are actually doing is exercising our souls and training them to be able to achieve these higher vibrations. Just like an athlete who keeps training his body to be able to perform better in a particular sport. After some training the body conditions itself, and higher performances in the particular sport become second nature to it. The same with our souls, after a few life times in this physical world we can train our souls to vibrate at these higher rates and hence become better and stronger, being able to receive and spread more love around us. You see by dying you leave behind all material things but you take with you all spiritual things, ie.  your character, your love. In other words if in your life you were a whinger, or a difficult person, as a spirit you will still be a whinger or a difficult spirit, ie nothing changes.

That now explains a very interesting point. As we have good and bad people we will have good and bad spirits. As people who think alike tend to stick together, in the same way spirits who are alike will stay together. In other words spirits of a certain vibration will all be at one level, all in one place if you want.

So you see nothing really changes. Life in the astral world is exactly the same as in this physical world. Of course there are some differences, differences from the point of view that there are no more physical bodies, from the point of view that communication and travel are all done by thought and the only thing that matters is LOVE.
